The pull downloads reported through the plain count port only because
byte_progress landed on main after the branch was cut. PullView now
implements it with a byte-counter template in the transfer-style
family (same shape, {bytes}/{total_bytes} counters, human-formatted by
indicatif), downloads emit through it, and the trait doc lists the
event among the ones the pull flow emits — un-duplicating the merged
'message, progress and progress' sentence.

Retire the ProgressCallback option-of-closure, the one pre-port
reporting idiom left in the tree: pull and package_info::lookup now
take &dyn BuildView like every other core flow, and the announcements
map onto message (unsized work), progress (item counts: series probes,
git objects, extraction) and progress again for byte downloads, which
the old callback carried in the same 4-argument shape.
The terminal side swaps the (ProgressBar, closure) pair for PullView, a
BuildView implementation owning one bar of the shared MultiProgress
with the same spinner/transfer style switching; it releases the line on
drop, which the CLI triggers explicitly on both outcomes since
exit(1) skips destructors. Headless callers (tests, internal lookups)
pass &report::Quiet. git clone sideband parsing is skipped entirely
when the view is not enabled, matching the old None-callback shortcut.
Confirming a 500 GiB prune went silent under "Removing:" for minutes:
drive an indicatif bar from the plan's sizes through a new
apply_with_progress observer, in the deb live view's layout — the
running count behind the spinner on the first line, the byte bar with
its counters on the second. The removed path is not rendered: it
fights the bar on a narrow terminal, and the failed-removal errors
name the paths that matter. --force plans no sizes and gets the count
line only.
The dry-run size spinner lacked the "> " prompt prefix the other
one-line waits carry; wait_spinner renders it too now.
- -f/--force skips the size pass and the confirmation prompt: remove
immediately, reporting counts but no sizes. The fastest cleanup
path; --dry-run still previews.
- The default path shows the grouped digest and asks before removing
(the raw-mode yes/no prompt; non-interactive sessions keep their
headless path, so scripts reach for --force).
- Sizes are computed under a spinner ("Computing sizes of
directories to prune..."), and the digest colors the counts (bold)
and the sizes (cyan) on terminals only.
Prompter gains interactive(), select() and text() (with the Validator
type), and confirm() now propagates cancellation as Err so flows abort
instead of silently taking a default when the user hits Ctrl+C. The
terminal prompter implements the full port; the port also re-exports
the path display helper, which is pure presentation formatting used by
events and messages rather than terminal code.
Core flows no longer reach into the terminal UI: build_source_package
takes a BuildSourceOptions struct (source tree, domain options, view,
prompter) and reports phases, messages and outcomes through the
environment-agnostic ports in the new report module. The classifiers
move from ui/logfmt to the core logfmt module, DebUi becomes a
BuildView adapter, the re-vendor retry asks the prompter instead of
checking for a TTY, and artifact/success printing moves to the CLI.
Headless consumers pass report::Quiet; an embedding (e.g. a builder
server forwarding events to a web frontend) implements BuildView and
maps the plain-data events onto its own wire format.
Steady-tick spinner threads redraw straight to the real stderr, bypassing
both the harness capture and the per-test log files: 'Scaffolding' lines
from the pkh new tests kept leaking between test results. The scaffold
tests now pass a hidden draw target (the only MultiProgress not created
by the CLI).
Upload built source packages over SFTP with host-key verification
(Launchpad fingerprints pinned in host_keys.yml, ask-to-accept
otherwise), Launchpad account discovery (git config lp.user), and
pre-flight checks the upload queue itself never does: changes file
discovery/validation, PPA existence via the Launchpad API, target
series validity, and debian/control Section validity (sections
bundled in distro_info.yml). Upload log prevents duplicate uploads
unless --force.
Route 'pkh build' through the DebUi capture machinery 'pkh deb'
already uses instead of letting dpkg-source inherit the terminal:
- pin LANG=C and LC_ALL=C so dpkg-source emits deterministic English
diagnostics regardless of the session locale;
- new DpkgSourceClassifier rewrites info:/warning:/error: lines into
colored pane entries, telling benign tar warnings from failures;
- DebUi generalizes for reuse (arbitrary phase labels, build-specific
log naming); run_source_build() drives phases and pipes subprocess
output through the sink when a UI is present;
- glyph-free house-style summaries: 'Built in Ns:' plus artifact
paths relative to cwd; failures print captured errors + log path;
- drop/capitalize pipeline chatter, add 'pkh build --verbose' to
bypass the view like 'pkh deb --verbose'.
