    treeview with a single click open in a preview tab (titled "~ name ~")
    that is reused for the next file and becomes a permanent tab as soon as

    editor behavior. Disable with config.plugins.ephemeral_tabs = false.

  * Vendor gitpanel 0.3.0 (own plugin, lite-xl-gitpanel @ 0731a63): a git
    panel integrated into the treeview pane - uncommitted changes with
    diff stats, staging, commits and history - toggled from a git-branch
    button in the treeview toolbar or the status bar branch indicator.
    History is pinned to the bottom half of the panel; clicking a commit
    opens its patch with syntax highlighting via the already bundled
    language_diff.

    debian/extra/README.source):
    - gitstatus, gitopen, fontconfig, open_ext, select_colorscheme,
      smoothcaret, nerdicons (+ Symbols Nerd Font Mono, font path patched
      to DATADIR)
    - lite-xl-lsp (full LSP client; activates when a language server is
      configured) with the lite-xl-widgets library it requires
    - 104 additional language syntax plugins (none duplicate the nine
      already bundled with core)
  * settings GUI plugin left out: its hard dependency on a widget that is
    missing from lite-xl-widgets@master makes it fail to load upstream.

  * Ship a VSCode-style dark theme and out-of-the-box config:
    - first-run template writes a tuned default init.lua (quilt patch)
    - theme module in /usr/share/lite-xl/colors, default config in /etc/skel
    - default config uses JetBrains Mono (new fonts-jetbrains-mono dependency)
  * desktop: launch with SDL software rendering and LITE_SCALE=1.5 so text is
    sharp on fractional-scaled Wayland panels and avoids panfrost artifacts.
  * vendored nerdicons ships with the tuned icon rendering (whole-pixel size,
    hinting off) instead of the pristine upstream copy.
  * default config keeps the status bar always visible.
